THE WAIPA ELECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I am glad Mr Whitaker has again declared his intention of going to the poll ; it will set at rest any uncertainty that exibtcd. No question of personal friendship mu&t be entertained in the forthcoming contest ; it must be fought out on purely party grounds. Did not last election prove that a side divided and split up must come to grief ? The Opposition aie not likely to commit the same blunder again ; the other side should pioiit and bear in mind "that a house divided, &c. " — I am, &c , An Eleutok. Ale\andia, July 14, 1881.
