NGARUAWAHIA TOWN DISTRICT.

The annual meeting was held on Saturday evening, at the Delta Hotel. It was proposed by Mr Kay, seconded by Mr Booth and carried, -'That Mr B. H. Keesing take the chair." Balance-sheet. — Receipts : To balance on hand, June 30th, 1880, £150 2s 6d ; rates collected, £66 17s Id ; arrears of rates, £19 3s 5d ; subsidy from Government, £40 Is od ; ditto Waipa County Council, £34 14s 6d ; special grant from Waipa County Council, £10; sale-yard fees, £7 12s 8d ; cattle fees, (2 years), £15 5s Od; deposit, £10. Total, £354 16s 7d. Expenditure : Sundries, £23 11s lid ; advertising, £6 Is ; salary, £16; common rates, £4 4s ; trees, including material, £21 10s; embankment material, £1301856 d road material, £41 14s 5d ; sale-yards material, £84 13s 6d ; Waipa ferry, £10 13s 4d ; deposit refunded, £10 ; bank balance, £3 18s 7d ; balance in hand, £llls4d. Total, £354 16s 7d. Several questions were asked regarding the saleyards and fees. The Secretary read the items of each to the meeting, and Mr Vant proposed "That thebalancesheet be adopted." Seconded by Mr G. Scott. — Carried. The next business was the election of trustees for the ensuing year. Messrs E. Fitzpatrick, Simmelhag, Dickeson, Laing, Keesing, Davies, and Booth were nominated, and a poll resulted thus :—: — Dickeson, 21 ; E. Fitzpatnck, 19 ; Lindsay, 16 ; Simmelhag, 15 ; Laing, 12. Messrs Keesing and Davies were elected auditors, and Mes«rs Canty and Jeff O'Connor fence-viewers. It was suggested that a rate of Is in the £ be struck for the ensuing year. It was proposed by Mr Scott "That a vole of thanks be expressed to the outgoing Board. This was seconded by Mr Keesing and carried. A vote of thanks to Mr Keeping for the very able way he had presided was also carried, and the meeting then terminated.
