Board Meeting.
The last meeting of the late Trustees of the Pukekura Highway District, was held at the Pukerimu School, on Friday, Bth July. Present : Mr R. Reynolds, (chairman), Messrs Walker, Sturges, Tucker and Hughes. The minutes ot the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the chairman of the Cambridge North Township Highway District Board, re assistance in making the road between the bridges. Mr Walker said he was glad to hear that they intended doing so, but was surprised thrt the work had not been attended to before, as the almost impassable state of the road had compelled many of the seitlers to pet their produce via Ohaupo. The consideration of the request contained in the letter was deferred to the ratepayer's meeting. A circular was received and read from the Colonial Secretary, enclosing correspondence ie altering the boundaries of the district. A letter was read from Mr F. A. Whitaker, M.H.R., ie the Government grant for the swamp road. A letter was read from the Waipa County Council, informing the Board of £30 having been placed to the credit of the Board, towards gravelling Ohaupo Road. A letter was received from the Hamilton Highway Board, re half co&t of Mystery Creek Bridge. Tenders received for keeping Mystery Creek road in repair for 6 months :— Thoa. Moore, £7 10s ; R. Norrish, U 10s. It was resolved that Mr Norrish 's lender be accepted. Proposed by Mr Sturges and seconded by Mr Walker; "That Hugh Fitzgerald be appointed Valuer for land re roads stopped on 26th April, 1881, and that he receive for his services 2\ per cent on the gross amount received for the said land. — Carried. Accounts were received and passed to the amount of £7 19s 4d.
