R. M. COURT, TE AWAMUTU.
Thursjmy, 7th July, 1881. — Before Major Jackson, J P., Captain Bockett, J.P., and Edward Parsons, Esq , J.P. Maclean v. Alexander Bruce. — This was a summons for recovery of Property Tax. The tax, with cost of summons, had been paid into Court by defendant on the sth instant, and a telegram despatched from the Te Awamutu office at five minutes past three o'clock on the afternoon of the sth instant. This telegram, however, was not delivered at Mr Maclean's office till a quarter past four o'clock. Mr Maclean had consequently started for Te Awamutu. The defendant, who did not appear, wa9 consequently ordered to pay Mr Maclean's costs, £3 7s. Gkesham v. Bright.— Claim for £2 16s on an 1.0. U. of defendant's. Judgment for plaintiff with costs, £1 18s 6d. There was no other business to record.
