Whitaker, has been taken charge of and will be introduced by the Government : — The Borough of Hamilton Boundaries Bill proceeds in a preamble that it is an Act to set at rest doubts as to the boundaries of the borough. Clause 2 enacts that the district as comprised within the boundaries mentioned in the schedule shall be taken to be and have been as from the 24th December, 1877, properly constituted a borough, all acts done and all proceedings taken and contracts entered into in the name and on behalf of the said borough had been properly constituted and the boundaries thereof correctly denned, are hereby declared to be valid and effectual to all intents and purposes, and all debts, liabilities, or penalties incurred or accrued since said date, and subsidies, may be imposed, recovered, and enforced accordingly. Schedule; All that land bounded towards the north-east by the Waikato river, from a stream which forms the south-eastern boundary of allotment 242, parish of Te Rapa, to the south-eastern boundary line of allotment 219, produced, across the river, thence towards the north-east by that line and allotments. 219, 220, 221, a road 100 links wide, allotments 223, 225, 229, 230, 231, a road 100 links wide, allotment 251, a road 100 links wide, and allotment 254, all in the parish of Kirikiriroa, towards the Waikato river, thence towards the south by +,he said river to the northern boundary line of allotment 24, produced acrosb the, river, thence by that line and by saidj allotment 254, towards .the east by allotments 24 and 25 to a point in a line with the northern boundary line of allotment 26, thence again towards the south by a road 100 links wide, and by said allotment 26 and allotment 365, towards the west by allotment 365, a road 100 links wide, and allotment 2 in the parish of Te Rapa aforesaid, to a stream which forms the eastern boundary of allotment 243 of said parish, and thence by that stream to the Waikato river. Scene between Grey and O'Rorke. A meeting of Auckland members was held to-d<iy 'to consider Volunteer matters. Quite a scene took place between Sir G. Grey and Sir G. M. O'Rorke The former challenged the latter for convening the meeting in his room, stating that he had no right to do so, and that he would report him to the House. Sir G. M. O'Rorke, who was very indignant, replied that he would use his own discretion, and would not be dictated to by Sir G. Grey. The contest was rather hot.
