' ' ' Larrikinism. Three larrikins were fined 10s and costs each for violently assaulting a Chinese vegetable vendor.

Released Maori Prisoners. One hundred and twenty-two released prisoners landed at Opunake on Saturday from the flineraoa. Those landed proceeded to 1 Opua en route 1 for Parihaka. There was great excitement at the latter in expectation of the return among the natives. , Much food was collected to welcome i them. There will be a large meeting on the 11th.

Destructive Fires. ' InvSrcargiLiL, Last Night. A fire at Wyndham destroyed two stables belonging to Messrs Jones and Templeton. Four horses, two dogs, liarness, arid a lot of produce were burned. Templeto'n's loss is £150 ; insured for £50 in the New Zealand office. Jones's loss is £450 ; , insured for £50 in the same dffice. 1 'Gildeu and ,Cole lost £30 on produce. Dhnedin, Last Night. A fire occurred at Pine Hill on Saturday 1 , when afour-rbdmed house and stable belonging to Mr' Richarda' were burned. The stock and furniture is insured for £250, and the ' building fdr the same amount in the South British. (
