Afghan Intelligence. Bombay, May 6.
The territory of Southern Afghanistan, to be left in the occupation of the Ameer, is now in the hands of his representatives, General Hume having withdrawn the labt of his forces to Chaman. Eighteen guns, and a quantity of rifles, presented by the Government to the Ameer, have been sent to Kandahar. Already niptures have oceuied between the inhabitants of Kandahar and the Ameer's forces, the former refusing supplies without payment. Reports &till continue contradictory respecting Ayoub Khan's position and movements at Herai. The last intelligence states that he has lost confidence in the Hciat troops, all of which me being disarmed and disbanded. The Ivaluedahar legiments at Herat, nominally three, are described as being very weak m numbers. All information, however, is regarded as \eiy unreliable, although the Wazu-b have submitted. The British expedition has been ordered to march through the country as a display of foice.
