South Sea Massacres.
In the House of Commons, Sir John D. Hay, member ior Wigtown, asked how many British subjects had been murdered in the South Seas since January, 18S0. The Right Hon. M. E. Grant-Duff replied that the number was 40, and that none of the murderers had yet been brought to justice. Sir John Hay thereupon intimated Ills intention of asking, aftei Whit week, what steps the Government intended adopting to protect Biiti&h bubjects from being massacied in the future.
