France and Tunis. Paris, May 13.
Telegrams have been received from Tunis announcing- that the settlement of the Franco-Tunu-ian difficulty has been brought about. On the arrival of the French troops outride the city of Tunis, the Bey despatched envoys 10 nesrociite with the French commander. The latter demanded as an ultimatum that the Bey should give a substantial guarantee that perfect order would be maintained on the frontier, and th'it he should agree to receive a French resident nt the capital. These conditions were ultimately accepted, and were embodied in a treaty of peace, which has since been signed, between tl « Fr nob. commander and the envoys of the Bey. In consequence of the settlement arrived at, the French troops will not now outer the city.
