MESSRS. GRANT & FOSTER AND THE TE ARORA BLOCK.
Gapt. Steele, agent for Mebars Grant & Foster received a cabla message from those gentlemen yesterday, agreeing to the terms made on their behalf with the Government by him. These terms as referred to by ua some dayp ago embrace certain concessions as to drainage, &c, which the Government have wisely made, and now the work of settlement may be expected to proceed apace. It is an undoubted pity that this arrangement could not have been, come to before, because the delay has cost this part of the Colony many valuable settlers who have come to the colony in the expectation of settling at the Aroha, but who despairing of a sati-factory termination of the matter, have cast their lots in other places. With an influx of practical agriculturists possessed of the means of properly cultivating their holdings will speedily raise the character of the Thames Valley to that of a thriving farming district. We must congratulate Capt. Steele on the successful termination of his negotiations.
