FATAL GUN ACCIDENT AT RANGIRIRI.

A GUN accident, with fatal results, occurred at Rangiriri ou Friday evening. It appears that a man named Jolly, who was employed by the Railway Department to pump water at the Rangiriii Station, in company with another railway employee named Grey, went out on the river in a canoe for the purpose of shooting ducks. After paddling about for some hours, Grey stood up to fire at some birds, and had discharged one barrel when the canoe gave a lurch, causing him to fire the other barrel, which unfortunately was then pointing at Jolly's head. The charge entered the back of the latter 's head, killing him instantly. Dr Beale left Hamilton by train yesterday to hold an inquest on the body.
