HAMILTON DOMAIN BOARD,
The usual monthly meeting of the Board ■was held at the Council chambers on Monday evening. Present — Hia Worship the Mayor, (Chairman), Messrs Hill, Jones, Price, McGarrigle, Tippen, Peat, and Vialbu. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and the outward correspondence was read and I approved. A letter was read from Mr Simms, licensed surveyor, stating that in his opinion no alteration waa necessary in the size of the drain near Mr Seddon's property. The recommendation was adopted. Mr T. G. Sandes, licensed surveyor forwarded a guarantee to rectify any error which might be found in his survey of the Domain Lands before the same was placed on the record maps of the colony. Applications were reoeived from Messrs Gwynne and Talbot for leasing allotments, Nos. 38 and 39 respectively. The matter of the leasing was fully discussed by the Board. Mr Hill moved and Mr Peat seconded that the lease of lots 38, 39, and 40 be submitted to auction for a term of 21 years at an upset price of £1 per acre, per annum. — Mr Tippen moved as an amendment that the upset price be 10s. This was seconded by Mr Vialou. After further discussion the amendment was carried by the casting vote of the Chairman. It was then resolved that the whole of the Board lands not leased including the lots forfeited by Messrs Walnutt, F. Crawford, Mackay, W. Sandes, and 0. Peat, be offered for lease at the following prices : — £24, 5s ; £25, 10s ; £26, 15s j £29, ss ; £30, 5s ; £31, 5s ; £32, 10s ; £35, 15s ; £42, 7s 6d East Hamilton : No. 6, ss ; £11, 10s ; £14, 15s j £15, 10s. Hamilton West. A letter was read from the Auditor General returning the balance sheet for the year ending 31st December, 1880, duly audited and directing the Board to advertise it in the New Zealand Gazette. From the balance sheet it appears that the receipts for the year amounted to £94 7s Bd, and the expenditure including overdraft of previous year to £104 13s lOd, leaving a debit balance of £14 11s 2d, being the amount of bank overdraft. A list of arrears owing by tenants was submitted and dealt with. Several accounts were passed for payment and the Board adjourned till the 19th inst.
