PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH, OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Last Night.
A meeting of the Piako Council was held to-night. Present : Messrs Fergusson, (chairman), Firth, Campbell, Ellis, and Williams. After considerable discussion it was proposed by Mr Chepmell and seconded by Mr Campbell, "That a new riding be constituted, to be called the Aroha riding, consisting of all the land in the County to the Eas*" of the Waihou river and north of the Waimere Creek, the said riding to return one member." Carried unanimously. The effect of this resolution will be to give a member to the goldfield. The next meeting will be held the first Friday in May.
