Mongonui, Last Night.
The American whaling barque James, which went on the rocks at Awanui Heads, is a total wreck. She was fayelve months out; from' New Bedford with 300 barrels of oil. The vessel is lying on her beam ends, with sjx feet of water in the hold in low water. The masts have been cut away, and the crew are ab work discharging cargo. The whale oil cannot be got out, and nothing is insured.
