At a mile and a-half, the tlnee leaders closed up together, but approaching home The Governor bogan to draw away, the whip being pulled out to Sylvanus and Lady Emma, when the semblance of a race up the straight took place, but The Governor came in full of running, and won comfortably by a length, Sylvanus second, Lady Emma third. Luna, 2to 1 against Talent, 4 to 1 against Castenette filly, 6to 1 against any other. After seven breaks away, in one of which Legerdemain went lialf-a-mile, the flag fell to a capital start, and Luna cut out the running, with the Castenette filly close up, and this order was kept, with the exception that Luna went slightly ahead of Talent at the back of the course for nearly a mile. Castenette filly then began to drop back, and Legerdemain took her place, but she could never get on terms with Luna and Talent, the former of whom won lather easily by a length, Talent second, Legerdemain third.
