THE LATEST. Serious Accident to Mr Gladstone.
London, Yesterday. Mr Gladstons sustained a serious accident yesterday. As he was entering his carriage his foot slipped and he fell, his his head striking the step of the carriage. He has sustained severe injuries, and is now confined to his bed.
Calcutta, February 23. Intelligence from Kandahar states that circumstances have transpired which lead to the belief that the evacuation of that place by the British garrison will shortly be commenced. No definite announcement of intended withdrawal of troops has been made public.
