TE RORE BRIDGE.
The following is the official intiraation regarding the selection of the site for this biidge, lefeired to in a previous issue of this journal: — Public Works Office, Wellington, January 28, 1881. Sit, — With reference to the correspondence fh.it has taken place in 1 egard to the site of|(he To Rore Bridge, 1 .im now instructed by, the Minister for Public Works to inform you th.it 'he h.is had \erv full professional repoi ts furnished to him; and, .ifter gtwng thorn (areful consideration, he has come to the conclusion that Te Rore or the upper site w.is the one originally content^ plated, and that on which it is most desirable the budge should be erected. The Minister has, therefore, gi\en direction to the District Engineer to have the plans altered, and the bridge on the To Roie site proceeded with.— l am, &c., John- Kvow r 1 s, Under-Secretaiy loi Public Works.
