Cambridge v. Waitoa.
Tnh above match was> played on the Cambridge ground on Friday labt, and resulted in a victory for Waitoa by 27 runs. Mackintosh captained the home team and Smith the visitors. The latter winning the toss elected to go to the wickets, but ftrey only reached double figures. Stafford's 9 was a thorough cricket-like innings, and he v ill be it valuable acquisition in the forthcoming match agaiu&t Auckland. In their second innings Lechie had fortune and good luck which culminated in a good score ; and Stafford again showed to the fore. For Cambridge, Cooper only stood the Waitoa bowling, and Regan's 10 in the second innings displayed good cricket. The Cambridge players should remember that a game is never lost till it's won, or won till it's lost ; it was quite evident they held matters too lightly after the first innings. The Cambridge Club will play Hamilton on .Saturday week next at Cambridge.
