CRICKET. Cambridge Cricket Club v. Armed Constabulary.
The return match between the Cambridge Cricket Club and the members of the Armed Constabulary was played in the Government paddock on Saturday. Shortly after the commencement of the game, the rain began to fall and continued throughout the day, the last innings of Cambridge being finished in a perfect downpour. The play as may be imagined was very irregular and very few good scores were made. E. Pilling for Cambridge carried his bat out in the second iunin^s for the handsome total of 42, but notwithstanding this the A C. won by 33 runs. TJio bowling of Kilkenny, Martin, and Hinton, for the A.C. and of A. W. Pearaon and Stubbing for the C. C. C. was good, but there were few opportunities for the display of play of any kind. Everybody wan soaked with the rain and nothing but the utmost enthusiasm could have carried the game out to the finish. The following are the scores : —
