LATEST CABLEGRAMS. [REUTERS TELEGRAMS .] Australian Eleven v. Players. London, September 29

The match between the Austnlian Eleven and eleven professional players of England commenced at the Crystal Palace Cricket Ground on the 27th. The weather was fine, but the ground was against large scoring owing to accent rains. The attendance was large. The Players took the first innings, and reached the small total of 90 runs. The following were the scores of the English team : — Barlow, 6 ; Fmmett, 8 ; Jupp, 0 ; billing, 3 ; Morley, 3 ; Barnes, 39 ; Lockwood, 3 ; Bates, 6 ; Selby, 2 ; Shaw, 17 ; Mycroft, 0 j sundries 3 ; total, 90. The coloiial team then followed. First innings : Jarvfs, 11 ; Alexander, 6 ; Murdoch, 26 ; Macdonnell, not out, 16 ; Blackham, 25 ; Palmer, 12 ; Spofforth, 25 ; were the ! principal contributors. The Players fallowed and were as unfortunate as in their i first innings, ior they only made 82 runs. The principal scores were : Lockwood, 12; Bates, 13 ; Jupp, 20; Morley, 9. Palmer and Boyle bowled well. The colonial team then went to the wickets to get the 48 runs required to win, but when the stumps were drawn they had lose three wickets for 10 runs. The match was resumed next day. Owing to the dostructive bowling of Mycroft it nearly ended in a defeat for tne colonial team, who lost eight wickets before the required number (48) were obtaiced. Macdonnell was the only one who reached double scoring —11.
