Sir, — With reference to the paragraph that appeared in the HeraWs issue of Friday last, stating a rumour was current in Hamilton that the atone on 'view at Mr McLernon's shop was brought from Ohinemuri by mysejf, and that, on enquiry it was found to be without foundation. I i wish, through your columns to emphatically deny the same, and beg to thank, those persons who circulated such report. The stipne I brought from Ohinemuri 1 have much pleasure in leaving with you ; : it may give those sapient news-inventors I a chance of seeing a little auriferous j quartz, which hitherto they may not have had.— l am, &c, RICHABD BINOHAM MASON.
