PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Tke following Order-in-Council is published for the information of Ratepayers of the Tamahere Highway Distric*. HENRY REYNOLDS, Chairman Tamahere Highway District. Tamahere, 10th September, 1880.

Land in the Tamahere Highway District, not required for public use, authorized to be sold.

HERCULES ROBINSON, Governor. ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this first day of September, 1880. Present : His Excellency the Governor in Council. WHEREAS by section twenty-nine of "The Public Works Act, 1876 " (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act "), it is enacted that, if it is found that any land taken under that Act is not required for public use, the Governor may, by an Order in Conncil publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein set forth : And whereas by the ninety-fourth section of the said Act it is enacted that the land occupied by any road stopped as provided by the said Act shall be dealt with as provided by the twenty-ninth and following sections of the said Act in the case of lands not required for public use : And whereas the roads, the land occupied by which is described in the Schedule hereto, have been stopped under the authority of the paid Act. And whereas the Highway Board of the Tamahere Highway District has laid before the Governor the memorial referred to in the twenty-ninth section of the said Act, praying the Governor, by an Order in Council, to cause such lana to be sold : Now, therefore, I, Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid, do hereby order and authorize the land described in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in the manner and subject to the conditions of the twenty-ninth and following sections of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

Atiii that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 26 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at a point distant f ro m the southernmost corner of Section 69, 2815 links. Bounded-South-westerly by Section 69, 2420 links; North-westerly by a road, 100 links; North-easterly by Section 82, 2416 links ; South-easterly to commencing point by a Hue. 100 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 8 acres 1 rood 12 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Su vey District of Hamilton, commencing at a point distant from the south-easternmost corner of Section 44, 130 links. Bounded— Northwesterly by Section 45, 8291 links ; Northerly by a public load, 11.3 links; South-easterly by Sections 82 and 69, 8410 links; Westerly to commencing point by a public road, 115 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2 roods 35 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 30. Bounded — North -westerly by the Manga Onua Creek, 105 links ; South-westerly by Sections 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 38, 9717 links ; Southeasterly by a public road, 100 links ; North-easterly to commencing point by Sections 32 and 30, 9725 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, situated in ths Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at a point distant from the easternmost corner of Section 44, 421 links. Bounded — Generally Nor^h-easterly and Northerly by Section 44, 1222 and 2821 links respectively ; Westerly by a line, 100 links ; generally Southerly and South-westerly by Section 44, 2798 and 1156 links respectively ; South-easterly to commencing point by a road, 107 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 24 perches more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at a point distant from tne north-easternmost corner of Section 43, 3187 link*. Bounded — Northerly by Section 43, 4900 links ; Westerly by a road, 100 links ; Southerly by Section 43, 4900 liuks ; Easterly to commencing point by a line, 10!) links or thereabouts. Bounded— Generally South-westerly by Section 42, 1667 and 940 links respectively ; generally Northerly by a public road, 87 and 42 links respectively; generally North-easterly by Section 42, 834 and 1640 links respectively , Easterly to commencing point by a road, 100 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at a point distant from the north-westernmost corner of Section 71, 3336 links. Bounded— Generally North-easterly by Section 71, 593, 527, 1090, and 1674 links respectively ; Southerly by a road, 101 links : generally South-westerly by Section 71, 1634, 1040, 508, and 636 links rejtpectively; Northerly to commencing point by a road, 106 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 2 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 63. Bounded — North-easterly by Section 63 , 2,590 links ; Westerly by a road, 204 links ; Southwesterly by Seotion 59, 2,481 links; South-easterly to commencing poiut by a road, 210 links or thereabouts. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 30 acres 2 roods and 22 perches, more or less, situated in the Parish of Tamahere, Survey District of Hamilton, commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 57. Bounded — orenerally North-easterly bv Sections 57, 65, and 54, 10530, 1500, and 3130 link* respectively; Northerly by p road, 250 links ; generally South-westerly by Sections 51, 52, 53, 55, 58, and 59, 3220, 1567, and 10590 links respectively ; South-eas-terly to commencing point by a road, 204 links or thereabouts.
