INTERPROVINCIAL FOOTBALL MATCH.
The Wellington footballers may be expected in Auckland on Wednesday, and it is proposed that Auckland meet them On Saturday. No doubt this is the best day, but it is very awkward for the Waikato vi&itois ah it will compel them to spend their Sunday m Auckland. If the game took place on Friday, the Waikatos -would be able to return on Saturday, and thub sa-ve a day, 'I he Waikato representatives a,re Messrs Wood, Laingand Ring, and we think a good selection has been made with the exception of the latter ; not but what lie is a good man, but he still feels the sprain he received .some time back. It the Wellington team is anything like the one they sent to Christchurch last season, Auckland will have their work cut out for them. Their finest play is, the way they lock in their scrimmages, (m which, by-the-way Auckland must'nt talk about '• no backing" as they did in the Waikato match) and should Berry and Bailey be with them some very pretty quarter back play may be expected.
