ALEXANDRA. Annual Meeting of Ratepayers.

The annual meeting of the Ratepayers of the Alexandra Township Highway ' Board A\as held in the Public Hall last Friday, 30th July. Mr Munro wa.s voted to the chair. The Chairman of the .outgoing Board read the Balancc-slieel, a«5 lollops : — Receipts : To Balance on hand, April Ist 1879, £224 3s 9d • General rates, £8 10s 7d ; From (iovemment, Connty rates, £36 9s 3d ; Waipa County, £9 4s 6d; Miscellaneous : Licences, Dog Niusanco, 3s; 4 Purm Posts, £1 9s 8<l ; Money received March 12th, 1880, £17 6s 3d ; Grand Total, £297 9a Od. Expenditure : Existing roads — by repairs and improvements, £145 19s 2d ; bridges and culverts, £75 8s Bd. Expenses : Salaries and lent, £1 .55. Miscellaneous : 0 Puriri posts, £2 4s 6d ; cheque book, omitted by the chairman, Mr Grant, 4s 2d ; Commission on dog collars, Is. Billance on hand, £G9 Gs 6d. '' There being .some mistake, not tiac3ablo in the accounts, it wa^> re.solved that the accounts be handed to an accountant to trace tiic errors befovc the sheet be passed. ' The following gentlemen were then elected Trustees for fcho ensuing year : — H^r^. Hill (chairman), Aubin, Finch, liirce, ftnd Asmuss. Messrs >xw\t and Mciruthev, Awditovs ; Messrs. Bnvns nnil Garmonsway, Fencevieivers. A rate qI lg was then struck, payable on the 3 1st October, 1880, in one instalment. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
