The Australian Eleven. London, July 30.
Owing to the inclemency of the weather, piay could not be resumed yesterday in the match Australians v. eighteen of the Alexandra Club, at Crewe. It was however, continued to-day, when the home team, in their first innings, were all disposed of for 45 runs. Spofforth took nine wickets. At the close of the day's play the Australian*, in their second innings, bad lost two wickets for 91 runs. Owing to yesterday's rain the wicket was very dead.
London, Jnly 31. The cricket match Australians v. eighteen of the Alexandra Club at Crewe in Cheshire, was resumed to-day, the Austrrlians continuing their innings, having lost on the day previous. Two wioketa were down for 91 rims. They were all disposed of for 257 runs. Blackham was caught for 40. In the second innings the home team had 8 wickets down for 26 runs. The attendance at each was moderate* and the game was drawn in favour of the Australians.
