The New Zealand Loan has fallen 10 per cent. The French Ambassador has warned the Sultan that if he resisted the Berlin decision he would meet the Khedive's fate. Serious disturbances have taken place at Bagdad. An English steamer was attacked by fanatics, and the captain and mate murdered. The Turkish troops engaged on the fortifications, near Constantinople, revolted, owing to non-payment. Turkey has sent six transports conveying troops to defend Salonica, and other important seaports likely to be attacked by European Powers. The English harvest prospect is unsatisfactory. England, France, and Germany have resolved to co-operate in the naval.demonstration before Constantinople.
Constantinople, July 25. The Montenegro Ambassador has been recalled from Constantinople, and now that diplomatic relations have been broken off, the Great Powers have agreed to make a naval demonstration against Turkey in favour of Montenegro.
