The Afghan War Expenses. London, July 16.
The Marquis of Hartington, Secretary of State for India made a statement in the House of Commons to-day, in the course of which he said lie was of opinion that England should bear a substantial portion of the cost of the Afghan war, and that the whole burden should not be thrown upon India.
