HAMILTON- HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
A MrcftTiN'G of tlie trustcPß of tlio above district was held at tlio Watkato T±MKS Biuldin<r<* on S iturduy afternoon. Presont :— Mcs-rn Stcelo (chairman), Gribblo, ami George Edgocumbe. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Secretary reported that no correspondence had been received siuco last meeting.
The Hamilton- Whatawhata-road No. 1 Contract. A letter was read from tho Engineer to Messrs Maunder snd Son, contractors for No. 1 section Hamilton-Whatawh.ita-roud, calling the attention of the contractors to the small progress being made in carrying on the contracts, and informing them that if more men were not employed the work would not be completed by the contiact time, and that hp should advise the Board to enforce the stipulations in the agreement. It was resolved — "That the Secretary write to certain persons asking them to furnish their accounts against the Board forthwith." The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr F. A. Whitnker, M.H.R , requesting him to interview the Minister for Public Works with a vi«nv of getting the £600 voted for the H.imilton-YVhata-whata-ro.td at once placed at the disposal of the Board, as contractors would .«oon be requiring payments on account of contracts.
Annual Meeting. It was l'csolved that the annual meeting of ratepayers be held on the 24th instant, at 2 p.m., at the Railway Hotel, Frankton.
Mystery CreekThe Chairman was authorised to employ the necessary labor to remove the planking: of the old bridge over Mystery Creek, and to have it stacked, <md to widen and generally improve the approaches to the crock.
