DEATH FROM DRINKING.
William "Ward Hooper, hea<l gardener in the employ of Patrick Leslie, Esq., of Wartle, Tamahere, died on Saturday morning, from the effects of excessive drinking. The unfortunate man had been in Mr Leslie's employ for over nine years, and, in the iutervals of his drinking nt.s, was a well-conducted, honest, hardworking man. He leaves a wife and one child.
