TO THE EDITOR. Sm,-r I was glad to see in tlie report of Last Saturday's meeting of the South Auckland Cattle Board that Mr Maclean denied having sent 200 head of store cattle to the Auckland market, and that the cattle referred to were fat ones for slaughtering purposes. Now, no one has a greater dislike to the circulation of unfounded reports than myself ; but, having seen in the Weekly Herald of— l think— the 17th insti, a telegram from the Cambridge correspondent of that journal in which it was distinctly stated "store cattle/ together with the currency the report gained in this district, I naturally concluded it was true. I beg now, after hearing Mr Maclean's explanation, to assure that gentleman of my sincere regret for having repeated a statement that had no foundation in fact. I may also add that 1 believe with 1 the existing regulations put in force by the Board that Pleuro-pneumonia in Waikato will soon be a thing of the past. — I am, &c, Stockowneb. Te Awamutu.
