A feeling of uneasiness prevails in Germany at the result of the English elections, it being feared that, with the apce^sion of the Liberals to power, a , radical change will take place in the'fcfreign policy of Great Britain, whereby complications may arise, especially in regard to the relations of the great powers of Turkey, Greece s andilussia. Herr Denburg(?) in consideration of the change that has taken place in the aspect of affairs, now gives his support to the changes proposed in the Army Bill submitted to the German Parliament. The Government of Germany, being' anxious to extend their influence in the ■South Seas, and to promote emigration thereto, has resolved to assist with grants of money the German settlers and .traders at Samoa. ' ' It is expected that His Grace the Duke of Manchester, K.P., will represent the British Imperial Commission at the opening of the Melbourne International Exhibition. It is stated that Mons. de Belleville will represent the French Eepublic at the Melbourne Exhibition.
