After inspecting the animal, and pronouning him to be suffering from tuberculosis or consumption in Its last stages, permission was given to slaughter the bull, and a post-mortem examination fully confirmed the opinion formed while the animal was alive. The same gentleman afterwards inspected the remainder of the herd, but failed to find any symtoms of disease. Mr Fantham gave them full authority to kill any beast thoy desired. The following is the report handed to Mr Fantham the same evening :—: — The undersigned veterinary surgeons hereby certify that they have this day examined at Mr Fanthams farm, near Cambridge, a shorthorn bull, which all agree was suffering from tuberculosis (consumption) in its last stages, which is neither contageous nor infectiousr- We recommended Mr Fantham to have this animal destroyed, which was done, and the post-mortem examination fully confirmed our opinions. We also at the same time thoroughly examined the cattle the bull had been in the paddock with, and housed with for many months, and they were perfectly free from disease of anyTcind. T.
