" OWN CORRESPONDENTS."
TO THE EDITOB. Sir,— l observe that your Whatawhata correspondent in your issue of last Tuesday received a slight dressing down at your hands. When the outburst of indignation against that wicked person has somewhat subsided, I should like to draw attention to the coincidence that in the following issue to the one in which the objectionable letter appeared, tenders are called for the first section of tlie new road. " Verily, " these correspondents are a necessary evil. — I am, &c-, LOOKEII-0-N.
