ALEXANDRA, Yesterday.
THE LATE ASSAULT CASE. At the Resident Magistrate's Court here to-day, the case of Conn v. Kelly for alleged serious assault, the defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined £3 and costs— 4 guineas.
DESTRUCTIVE BUSH FIEE. On Wednesday last a bush fire took place at Kikurangi, destroying the principel part of the growing crops.
NARROW ESCAPE OP A CHILD. A ohild narrowly escaped being burnt alive.
EXODUS OP NATIVES. All the Ngatimaniapoto's under Te Wahauni are leaving Te Kuiti, selling off their cattle, horses, &c, and purpose joining Tawhiao at Hikurangi.
