THE IRISH DISTRESS. Lo ndon, February 10.

There was a warm debate in the House of Commons on the question of the conduct of the Government in rerpect to the Irish distress. Some of the Home Rule members made a bitter attack on the Heaoonsfield Government, charging them with apathy in respect to measures that had been adopted to reli°ve existing distress. Lord Hartington and Mr Foster replied to attacks, and ably defended the Government, showing that all that was posaible had been done to alleviate the distress. The Orient steamship Chimborazo encountered a terrific storm, in which four men were drowned, 16 injured by dashing of waves, and six boats lost.
