IRISH AMENDMENT TO THE ADDRESS. London, February 7.

Iv the House of Commons, Mr P A. Redmond, member for Wexford, moved an amendment to the address, condemning the Government for not having taken steps to alleviate the distress in Ireland by making- advances to the tenantry, and demanding from the Chancellor of the Exchequer that detailed measures he at once taken. In the course of the debate the Hon. L). Plunket, member for Dublin, University, denounced the course pursued by Mr Parnell. The debate was adjourned.
