This morning Walters's and Valiance's horaes worked on the beach. Walters was present and gave Hippocampus and Libeller a sharp canter of a mile and a half ; after which both started together to gallop the same distance. Hippocampus palled over the colt all the way, and finished three lengths a-head, going in good form. As far as could be seen the weights were the same as in the Handicap. Lara had two gallops on the mile and a-balf with Templeton, finishing a length a-head each time. Hailstorm did a steady two miles, in clothing on the course. | Norseman did two iatfes in 3.54, and Magnolia in 3. 57. Chancellor went the Cup course with Laertes, the former coming home well in front. Soukar went three-quarter speed in a gallop of two miles ; others cantered. York, Sinking Fund, and Pinfire are unlikely starters. The betting to-day is brisker th n usual ; 200 to 84 Foal Flay (taken), 300 to 6r Lara (taken) 100 to 12 (offerred); Hippocampus, 100 to 14 (offered) ; Tampleton, 100 to 10 (wanted) ; 100 to 5 anything else, bar Chancellor, whose price would not be settled, but about 100 to 12 (offered) " Vigilant" in " Post", tips Hippocampus and Lara, with Hailstorm and Soukar for a place.
