The engineer will then commence that part of the line from. Kuhukia pa-st the racecourse to the Narrows. The whole hiirvey will probably be completed in a fortnight's time, when the engineer's report and estimate will then be laid before the committee. Statistics are being prepared of the present tidflic and freight to the Cambridge district, and an estimate will then be made of the probable traffio and freight by tlic proposed line-,, to illustrate its paying capabilities. Everything will bo earned on, in a business-like and straightforward manner, and care will bo taken to prevent exaggeration— that the Cbtimates of the traffic, freight, ice , shall be rather under than over the mark. The Cambridge people are determined to carry the matter through and have a railway, and that speedily, one way ay another They will come forward in mam; and in spite of Hiry antside influence which may bo brought to bear in opposition, will lepve no stone unturned to bring about ?ho desired result.
