Horses. — There has been continuous improvement in the market, both as to supply and demand. On Friday above the average number were submitted by auction. Competition was good throughout the sals, and nearly all entered were disposed of by auction ; and those for which reserves could not be reached were afterwards disposed of privately. "We quote hacks from £6 to £16 ; light harness horses, from £11 to £20 ; draught, £35. Cattle. — Ihe supply has been good, and prices for dairy and storo stock have an upward tendency; but beasts in the butchers' pens, insufficiently up in condition, were comparatively neglected, while really well-fattened animals maintained their value. We quote dairy cows from £7 10s to £12 ; calves, from 35s to £2 17s Gd; yearlings, £3 3s to .C 3 15s; grown steers, £4 15a to £6 s§. Sheep. — The Newmarket yards were completely crammed with sheep on Tuesday, and prices had a downward tendency. "Inferior stores (ewes) sold at 2s Gd to ss ; store wothers, 7s 3d ; fat wothers, Is Gd por Sibs. ; ewes, Is Id.
