Correspondence. WATCHMAN ON PASTOR CHINIQUY. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — "Watchman" miserably fails in concealing his feelings, but admirably succeeds in showing " what spirit he is of/ and I thank him for his frankness, though do not think he will become popular through the medium of such sensless communication, at least not among lovers of wisdom, truth, and fair* ptey. It certainly displays a defeotive taste and lack of something else when a man goes to the trouble of searching out chaff, and fieeds on it, while there is plenty of wheat to be had cheap and no danger of getting their pockets picked. I hope tljere are. n.o drunfrea bishops or

priests in Waikato, hence Pastor Ohiniquy's services will not be required in putting them to bed, but should there be au extraordinary exception to the general rule, and one of tLem became " incapable," it would be an act of kindness on the part of the Pastor to put him to bed nod take cure of his " tin " or his god (as the case may b)) till kis capability returned. I do not qnow who the " Watchman " is, but hope he will watch faithfully when the Hastor comes, and report all what he prows to be lies, and in fairness report the truth as well, and the whole truth not half of it as in the communication referred to.— l aui, &c, Speeo Meliora.
