WAIKATO TURF CLUB SUMMER MEETING.
TO THE EDITOBt Sir, —^The nominations for Handicaps which appear m your issue to-day will prove that the Committee were right m altering their date of meeting, at least so far as racing is concerned. Regarding- a private conversation I had m a railway carriage with Major Walmaley, as Mr Kirkwood has so carefully preserved the letter that gentleman wrote, he may also have the answer sent by the Committee of the Turf Club, which he is quite at liberty to publish. As I will not trouble you on this matter again, and as it is admitted by everyone who knows anything of racing that two Clubs cannot succeed m holding meetings worthy of the district, lean only hope that means may be devised by which rivalry may be done away with, and meetings held which will, as a whole, reflect credit upon the com- | munlfcr. — I am, &c, Kennedy Hill.
