TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — As there appeal's to he some misapprehension on the part of some persons who were present at the Paterangi soiree on November 27th, as to some of the items set forth m the balance-sheet, which was read with the report, may I trouble you to publish the following for general satisfaction, being the financial part of the report: — Received from private subscriptions, £7 3b 3d ; from the exhibition of a panorama, £1 10s ; and from the sale of Bibles, hymn-books, &c, £1 5s lOd. During: the same period we have expended on Bibles, hymn-books, and school requisites, £2 4s Id ; on the lending library, £4 18s lid; on prizes, 15s 6d; freight, 8s ; hire of tho panorama, 10s ; and subscription to Union, £1 ; leaving a balance m hand of 2s 7d.— l am, &c, N.
