ALEXANDRA.
There is no truth whatever m the report that Rewi expressed his intention of resuming his former attitude antagonistic to tho Govern, merit. His last words to your correspondent at Kaipha where lie stayed on his way up, wore : " I leave here for Kuiti to recover my health, and if possible after that I go to Hikurangi to meet Tawhiao, then I will again return." While at Alexandra, ia reply to Te Hauhau m charge of the canoe party to take him up, Rewi said, " I baye been told there are two parties m the Government, but only believe there are two parties m New Zealand—Maoris . and Pakehas, and am perfectly indifferent which Pakeha party is m power." Rewi went at his own request to Major Mairs, which ia conclusive evidence that he is not unfavourable to the Hall Ministry. He further informed your- correspondent m the presence of our most prominent settlers that he hoped to meet Major Mair on his next visit, So much for these concoc^ reports. There is just as much\ truth m them as m Tawhiao telegrams, laid before the House last session. The Governor can prqeeed to Sydney with all confidence.
