BOROUGH COUNCIL INTRIGUES
Sik, — We the .undersigned having, m pursnance of an agreement of aA the Council on Monday last, . attended at the Council Chambers last evening to an adjourned meeting to transact important matters connected with the bridge contract — Livingston and Booth's application for money, &o. — wp.ro much annoyed by not being able to proceed to business through there not being a sufficient number of Councillors to form a quorum.
That some of the Council might have been prevented from coming Was probable, but, our annoyance arose from two Councillors being present at the door, Councillors Knox and Harris (either of whom would have been sufficient to make a quorum), and not taking their seats. After keeping us waiting a full hour those gentlemen ultimately left, and so prevented any business at all being done. Burgesses of Hamilton, such is the conduct and spirit of? the men you have returned as your representatives. — We are, &c, B.C. Seals, William Jonbs, Robbbt Pbat, , I. K. VIALOTJ. Hamilton, 10th December, 1879.
