The following sensational telelegram from its own correspondent at Wellington appears m the Herald of yesterday. It would seem, that we have hardly .realised yet the depth of indebtedness to which the late Government have committed the Colony : — •"Wbi.lilNC.i6n, Saturday. It is stated that provision will have to be made on the estimates for far heavier liabilities than was anticipated. Claims of all kinds, the existence of wliich was never even suspeetod, are pouring m, especially m the Native Department.
