QUEEN'S REDOUBT.
Presentation and Soiree. December 2, 1879. A number of friends met on Monday evening m the commodious par. lpr of Mr John Dean (who occupied the chair), for the purpose of presenting an address nnd an elegantlybound family Bible, with suitable inscription to Mr Samuel Criokett, aa tokens of respect to that old gentleman for his services m connection with the church and School m the above place. The old man was taken by surprise, but made a touching and fatherly reply, ob3erving the character and value of the gifc, the spirit "of the givers, and the great Author of (All, who ia rich m mercy to all who call upon him m sincerity and truth. The good things for the body were provided by Mr John Dean. After tea. a pleasing programme of Moody and Sankey was gone through, and the meeting brought to a close by the reading of the 18th chapter of St. Luke's Gospel and prayer. Of late a library of 125 volumes mo**al and religious books has been added ro the school for the usa ot children ancl parents. — [A Correspondent,]
