Oue readers will bo glad to learn that the railway authorities have altered the dates of issue of return tickets- for those visiting Waikato from Auckland and intermediate stations, so that the tickets can be taken out the day before the races, that ia to-day, and we may therefore expect to sea many visitors on tho course to-morrow.
Of the ten horses entered for the Cavalry Plate two only (Ariel and Yatapa) have declined acceptance. The course, wo understand, is m excellent order, and everything gives promise of a successful meeting.
The Cavalry are ordered to parade 011 the ground at 10 a.m., and the review will probably commence half-an-hour later, so as to be over by noon, and the races will commence at 1 p.m. *•
