CAMBRIDGE.

Thb Cambridge Cavalry drill concluded last Friday morning. The muster has been large, 76 having mustered this drill, including officers and band. Seven recruits have been enrolled. Tuesday afternoon was devoted to firing in squads of two men, riding together round a course a quarter 61 a mile long over two stiff fences three feet high and then dismounting at the 200 yards rang and firing as many shots as possible at a target 6ft. x 2ft. till time was called. Three minutes allowed from start to gallop round the course to cease firing. The following is the score of the firing:

The following forfeited their points by missing the jumps :—Johnson and Garland, McCabe and Manlin, Soff and Tucker, McKinnon and Hall. Corporal Howie lost some shots by his carbine breaking down, otherwise he would have scored four or five more. Selby lost time too, as his horse fell in the loose sand and he lost several points. Three men at a time then started 100 yards from the 100 yards range. The two outside men then dismounted and fired five shots each at the same target as before, while the centre man held the horses. They then mounted and galloped round a half-mile course over four fixed fences three feet, high to the 200 yards range, the flank man dismounting" and firing as many shots as possible at the target till time was called, the centre man as before holding the horses. Time allowed from start to time to cease firing, six minutes. W. Selby andW. Wright; R.
