BRISBANE, October 8. In retaliation for the emasculation of tho Lmd Bill, Mr Parkes has swamped the Council with fresh appointments, and has recalled Mr Foster, the Agent- General. Chalmers after an inland visit lo New Guinea, says there is splendid country. He failed to cross over the Stanley Banges- The natives inland are numerous powerfu', and warlike. A friendly mission station has been established.
