CRICKET MATCH AT CAMBRIDGE.
CONSTABULARY VERSUS CIVILIANS. The wickets were pitched at 11 a.m., and the constables were sent to the Avickets, and, m little more thap. an hour, they were all out, for -5-1 runs. Cooper and Copland Were the best bats, and made 20 and 9 respectively. Mackintosh ancl Jones were bowling Avell. Stubbing also boAvled very effectively. After half-an-hour's interval, for lunch, the Civilians Avent m, and had very bad luck. They were all out for fourteen runs. In tho second innings, the A. C. made 59, Cooper again making the highest score, 22. The Civilians seemed, now, to haA r e lost all heart, and 'only put together forty-one m the second innings, by over cautious play. The result surprised eyeryone, as all had expected an ea,sy victory for the civilians. This is the first match Avhich the A.C. can place to its credit, against a good ma.ny lost. r They certainly deserved to Avin, as they played Avith great pluck. The following are the scores': — A. C.
